In this masterclass, that he delivered in 2025 as part of the MIFA Campus at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, award-winning screenwriter and UTS Lecturer and Scriptwriter Expert for the MIFA Pitch Competition Laurent Auclair explores the “DOs and DON’Ts” of pitching a project in a competitive industry. 

Pitching is a difficult art, most times daunting for most writers and creatives. Using his expertise and experience in the art of pitching and mentoring pitching teams, Laurent Auclair investigates the steps to create a strong and convincing Pitch Deck and will give insight on how to deliver your pitch to an audience in the best possible way. 


About Laurent:
Lecturer at UTS, Laurent Auclair is a French-Australian writer for the stage and screen. 

Among his credits, he wrote for international animation co-productions ‘Vic the Viking’, ‘Heidi’, ‘Tashi’ and ‘Pfffirates’ along with the iconic Australian serial ‘Home and Away’ and three plays under his belt, including ‘French Letters and Leather Cleaner’ which was produced at KXT for WorldPride Sydney 2023 as part of the RIPE Program from Fruitbox Theatre. His latest short play, ‘Kill Your Darlings’ made it to the Finals of the Short+Sweet Festival Sydney 2024. 

He has feature film scripts in development, three of them have been accoladed in various international script competitions (including Best Australian Screenplay at the 2020 Australasian Film Festival of Time).

Eclectic writer, he has also published four novels for young readers along with a collection of 12 dystopian/sci-fi short stories, and is currently developing his first musical, ‘PrEP – The Musical’ with composer Miles Horler. His nonsensical webseries ‘Party Couch’ is available online.
